Nickname: Maggie

I joined Toastmasters in March of 2022 after a series of public speaking fails made worse by the pandemic. My desire was to learn how to lead meetings both on and offline and to do it with poise. I quickly learned that at Toastmasters, you get out of it what you put in and that public speaking is a muscle you have to continuously work at.
This year, I get to serve the club as president which I hope will be the first of many presidencies.

​I was sent to Toastmasters by my mentor at work back in February, 2024. I came with one simple goal – to improve my communication skills. Soon after that, I realized that Toastmasters offers more than just public speaking. The program ranges from dynamic leadership to motivational strategies, which we can apply the skills in the daily life. Our club is very diversified and inspiring. I benefit a lot from it and I want to give it back to the community by serving in the executive team this year.

As an introvert, I’ve always sought meaningful ways to connect with people and make a positive impact on them.  This drive led me to Toastmasters, where I’m honing my public speaking skills.

Now, as VP of Public Relations, I’m dedicated to expanding our club’s reach by leveraging the power of the internet and social media.

What describes me best: I am thinker. I like to observe, gather my thoughts before commenting.

What I’m manifesting in my life right now: Getting back on track on my weight loss journey.

What do you hope to achieve in your role: I will be doing the weekly and the
executives Minutes. I hope to be able to do them as informative and concise as
much as possible. Finally, another element in this role is to maintain all the
club records.

What describes me best: I’m keeping my calm and I’m Kind.
